Helmut SCHNEIDER
Helmut Schneider, 73, of Kenosha, passed away Saturday, September 24th, 2005, at his daughter's home after a year and a half brave battle with cancer. Born in Geisweid/Siegen, Germany, on April 12, 1932, he was the son of the late Heinrich and Anna (Dornseifer) Schneider. He was educated in Germany before coming to Kenosha in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army in the 10th Mountain Division from May 2, 1955 until his honorable discharge April 17, 1958. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the Sharpshooter Medal. On August 9, 1957, he married Erna Kroeckel in Siegen, Germany. Together they moved to Kenosha in 1957 to make their home. He was employed as a machinist/experimental engineer with Tri-Clover for 36 years, retiring in 1992. Helmut was a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Erna of Kenosha; a daughter, Irene (David) Daniels of Somers; a brother, Werner (Annette) Schneider of Cologne, Germany; four sisters, Anneliese Klappert, Helga Mueller, Inge Pacholeck, and Waltraud Schneider, all of Germany; and two grandsons, Jeffrey (Eve) Daniels and Eric (Chrissy) Daniels. He was preceded in death by a sister, Irmgard Mueller. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 28th, at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Green Ridge Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will take place on Tuesday at the Proko Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Memorials to the family would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Dr. Mario Garretto, Dr. Majed Jandali, Dr. Malik T.
