Margaret Slavik, 93, of Kenosha, died Friday (December 17th, 2004) at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Born June 13, 1911, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Paroha) Barosko. She was a lifelong Kenosha resident, attending local schools. On Jan. 26, 1933, she married John Slavik at St. John's Lutheran Church. He died Feb. 15, 1982. She was a pastry chef for Krok's Restaurant, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was a past choir member and Sunday school teacher and active in Trinity Lutheran Senior Group and Busy Bees quilting group. She was the last member of the Circle 6 women’s group at the church. She also volunteered at Kenosha Medical Center, where she made caps for babies in the maternity ward. She also knitted and crocheted for Lutheran World Relief and local charities. Surviving are a daughter, Margaret “Margie” Slavik of Kenosha, and a sister, Josephine Neustrom of Eau Claire. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Barosko, and three stepbrothers, John, Emil and Lad Hudry. Proko Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.SLAVIK: Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Slavik will be held on Tuesday, December 21st, at Trinity Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Green Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Proko Funeral Home and Crematory, 5111-60th St., and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the services at Trinity Lutheran Church.
