Rowena "Ruth" Grove, 87, of Kenosha, died Wednesday (October 6th, 2004) at her residence. Born July 21, 1917, in Franklin, IL, she was the daughter of the late Olie and Paulina (Whitlock) Burnett. She lived in Racine as a young girl, moving to Kenosha in 1938. She was a graduate of Racine Park High School. On July 3, 1937, she married Ralph Grove in Elgin, IL. He died Jan. 23, 1981. She was employed by Ace Hardware from 1955 until her retirement in 1979. She enjoyed bowling in many Kenosha leagues, flower gardening and playing cards. Survivors include a son, Ronald Grove of Kenosha; four daughters, Roberta Osborn of Denver, Reeva (Roman) Serembiczky of Racine, Ruth (Dean) O'Hanlon of Kenosha, and Rebecca (Gayle) Horton of Merrillan, WI; 11 grandchildren, Jeffrey Wenberg, John Wenberg, Craig Grove, J.R. Osborn, Michael Serembiczky, Scott Justo, Elizabeth Ramirez, Kris Flaa, Kelly O’Hanlon, Jill O’Hanlon and Jodie O'Hanlon; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Gale, and a brother, Jerald Burnett. Proko Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.GROVE: Funeral services for Mrs. Rowena "Ruth" Grove will be held on Saturday, October 9th, at Proko Funeral Home and Crematory, 5111-60th St., at 2:30 PM. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:30 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kenosha Visiting Nurses Association, 600-52nd St., would be appreciated by the family.
