Alfonso AMADIO
Alfonso "Al" Amadio, 70, of Kenosha, died Tuesday (July 13th, 2004) at home after a short battle with cancer. Born in Kenosha on Oct. 31, 1933, he was the son of the late Tony and Pierina (Piermarini) Amadio. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and attended local schools, including Bradford High School. On Jan. 17, 1953 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, he married Carol Ann Kenney. He was employed by American Motors/Chrysler Corp. for 38 years, retiring in December 1988. As a young man he had a shoe shine business at 56th Street and 22nd Avenue and worked at the arcade on 56th Street as a pin setter. He was a notable pool player in his teens. He settled many sports arguments with his knowledge of players and statistics. He enjoyed playing golf with his sons and grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed travel and spending his winters in Florida. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, UAW Local 72, and the Senior Action Council. Survivors include his wife of Kenosha; two sons, Anthony L. (Peggy) Amadio of Kenosha and Allan P. (Sandy) Amadio of Wheatland; a daughter, Linda J. (Jim) Ventura of Pleasant Prairie; a brother, Peter of Kenosha; four sisters, Dea Perroni, Mary Kaiser, Orvine Scheve and Lena (Harold) Martinek, all of Kenosha; and seven grandchildren, Rachel, Allan, Abbie, Anthony, Gianna, Stacy and Jared. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gina Scheve. Proko Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.AMADIO: A Funeral Mass for Mr. Alfonso "Al" Amadio will be held on Saturday, July 17th, at St. Therese Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Proko Funeral Home and Crematory, 5111-60th St. Memorials to Visiting Nurse Association of Wisconsin or St. Therese Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
