Shirley R. Miles, 56, of Kenosha, died Friday, May 30th, 2003, at her residence after along battle with cancer. Born in North Carolina on March 23, 1947, she was the daughter of Cecil and Ruth (Bartholmew) Cole. She attended local schools in North Carolina and graduated in Swansboro, NC. She attended nursing school in Jacksonville, NC. She was employed at the former Riggs Deli and at Lakeside Dry Cleaners before retiring in January 2000. Her hobbies included bowling, shooting darts, and playing horseshoes for George's Club Highview. She is survived by her mother of North Carolina; two sons, Brett Sigman and Mike Sigman, both of Kenosha; two daughters, Angie Genge of Oregon and Angel Powell of Kenosha; a brother, Richard (Rose) Cole of Florida; four sisters, Ann (Don) Klapp of Indiana, Margaret Nanney of North Carolina, Mary Oebel of North Carolina, and Margie Ford of Georgia; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd, at the Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
