A Life Remembered

Obituary

Doris Jane Carney, 76, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 22, 1950, in Kenosha, WI, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur T. and Helen (Martin) Barndollar. She attended local schools and graduated from Tremper High School.

On September 26, 1970, she married Michael “Mike” Carney at St. Thomas Catholic Church.

She spent many years working as a beautician before retiring. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and St. Peter Catholic Church, where she was very active as a council member and Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed the friendships and fellowship she shared with her Monday and Wednesday Breakfast Groups.

Doris found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved bowling, tending to her garden, baking and cooking for those she loved. One of her favorite daily traditions was playing cribbage with her husband, Mike. Those everyday moments, shared laughter, and time spent together made life special to Doris.

Family meant so much to Doris, especially her twin sister, Debbie. She shared a very special bond with Debbie’s children, Megan, Melissa, and Martin Tyler loving them as if they were her own. Doris was like a second mom to them and cherished being part of their lives and the lives of their children, Sawyer, Sutton, Sydney, and Amelia. The love she shared with her family was a special part of who she was.

Doris is lovingly remembered by her husband, Mike Carney of Kenosha, WI; her twin sister, Debbie (Martin) Metten; her nieces, Megan (Jayson) Solberg and their children, Sawyer, Sutton, and Sydney, and Melissa (Wade) Mulroy and their daughter, Amelia; her nephew, Martin Tyler Metten; her brother-in-law, Richard (Susan) Carney; her sister-in-law, Mary L. Disney; and many other special nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends.

She will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, the friendships she treasured, and the many everyday moments that made life meaningful. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Doris was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Barndollar.

Doris was the most caring, special friend anyone could ever ask for. She would reach out to help and give of herself anytime she would even sense there was a need. Doris always was and is unforgettable. A fantastic cook and a so very talented decorator, she inspired us always! Her husband Mike was the most caring and dedicated caregiver. It was so heartwarming to watch them together. So many blessings being sent to her family in coming to terms with this tremendous loss. So much love....Ronnie and Roger Ashton
