Richard Lee Marchand, 70, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at his residence in Kenosha Commons which he was the President of Equal Access for Affordable Housing.
Born in Chicago, IL, on October 5, 1948, he was the son of the late George, and Ruth (Dawson) Marchand.
Richard was a advocate for disabled persons to receive housing and for facilities to be more accessible and he even marched in Madison to make it a law for all. He was a advocate, supporter and volunteered over 30 years for Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Richard was a Wisconsin Graduate for Senior Statesmanship Program in August 21 through 23, 2000.
Richard received a Lifetime Membership Certificate for Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups.
Richard received Easter Seal Volunteer Recognition Certificate on May 6, 1999. His life was dedicated for the love of his family and community.
He is survived by his 5 children, Crystal Marchand, Cindy Colangelo, Cassandra A Marchand aka (Mann), James Bakondy, Jr., and Cassie (Matthew) Campbell; eight grandchildren, Cody, Lea, Jacqueline, Michael Jr., Jenna, Jamie, James III, and Matthew Jr.; a brother Terry (Donna) Marchand; and his ex-wife, Jacqueline Bakondy.
He is preceded in death by a brother, George Marchand, Jr.
Richard (Daddy) our beloved father will be deeply missed but never forgotten by his children, family, friends and all those lives he touched.
Services for Richard were held privately.
