Obituary for Mary Frances Kreie (Witczak)

Mary F. Kreie, 74, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2019, at Froedtert South-St. Catherine’s Medical Center Campus.
Born in Manitowoc, WI, on March 9, 1944, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Gospodarek) Witczak. She was educated in the schools of Manitowoc before receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She then went on to obtain her master’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
On February 1, 1969, she married Gerald Kreie at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. After raising their family in Milwaukee and Chicago, they returned to Mukwonago, WI, for retirement, most recently residing in Kenosha, WI.
Mary worked as a registered nurse before teaching at Holy Family School of Nursing. She later taught at Waukesha Technical College, was in case management, and retired as a manager for a medical claim’s processor.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Kreie of Kenosha; three children, Nadine (Edward) Slosar of Mount Prospect, IL, Paul (Merideth) Kreie of Arlington Heights, IL, and Carina (Christopher) Deitschel of Arlington Heights, IL; a brother, Anthony (Cathy) Witczak of Wayne, PA; and six grandchildren, Michaela, Emma, Mara, Ryan, Anna and Megan.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Edward.
A private memorial Mass for Mary will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Can Do Multiple Sclerosis (www.mscando.org) in her name would be appreciated by the family.
