Print
Richard C. “Dick” Peltier, 84, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Froedtert South – Kenosha Medical Center Campus.
Born in Kenosha, on June 24, 1934, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Olga (Polath) Peltier. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools and graduated from St. Catherine’s Catholic High School.
On April 10, 1957, Dick enlisted into the US Navy and was honorably discharged on March 9, 1960.
On November 6, 1982, he married Ruth in Kenosha. This year they celebrated 36 years of marriage together.
Prior to his military service, Dick apprenticed for Kenosha Decorating. After completion of military duty, he started his own business, Peltier Decorating, which he operated for over 50 years.
He enjoyed road trips, especially those leading to the Northwoods, going fishing, puzzles, storytelling, joking with his family and friends, and was an avid beer merchandise collector.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; his children, Laura Goodman, Kevin (Shelly) Peltier, and Patrick (Sharon) Peltier; his step-children, Tim (Stacey) Overley and Rebecca (Erik) Nelson; 13 grandchildren, Andrea, Leah, Grace, Luke, Dean, Jack, Alyssa, Savannah, Garrison, Heidi, Ryan, Breanne, and Brittany; three brothers, Leo (Joan), Jerome, and Dan (Mary) Peltier; two sisters, Suzanne Loewen and Sally Peltier; and three sisters-in-law, Carol, Eileen, and Karen Peltier. He is further survived by great-grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Peltier; three brothers, Bill, Dr. Raymond, and Thomas Peltier; a brother-in-law, Richard Loewen; and three sisters-in-law, Ruth and Anita Peltier, and Pat Jensen.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 28th, at Proko Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated by the family.
