Print
Albert Fortino Andreoli, 74, of Kenosha, passed away at Aurora Medical Center on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 30, 1944, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Frank and Divina (Fortino) Andreoli.
He served in the United States Army from March 16, 1965, until he was honorably discharged on November 15, 1970.
On April 27, 1968, he married Linda Deardorf at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Albert was employed as the head custodian for Kenosha Unified School District for 20 years. He later worked as the director of maintenance & custodian service at Gateway Technical College until his retirement.
He was a member of the Local 168, Italian American Society, Moose Club, the Gumba Coffee Club at Mac’s Deli, and a participant of Packer games at the home of his niece, Gina.
Al had many accomplishments in his life, from being President of the Kenosha Running Club, to a committee member planning the Northside Library. His pride and joy in life, and the one thing that truly mattered, was being a loving husband, father, and the best papa to his grandchildren, Ty and Talia. Al loved the sun and Florida. His hobbies included collecting, repairing and designing neon signs, for which he was fondly known as the “Neon Man”. Al was also famous for his saying, “If it’s free, it’s for me”.
Albert is survived by his wife, Linda; his son, Christopher Andreoli; two grandchildren, Ty and Talia Andreoli, all of Kenosha; three brothers, Donald (Margaret) Andreoli of Kenosha, Frank (Tina) Andreoli of Dearborn, MI, and Roger (Sharon) Andreoli of Kenosha; two sisters, Jean Smith of Carmel, IN, and Rosalyn (Edward) Deardorf of Kenosha. He is further survived by his two brothers-in-law, John Deardorf and John Gallegher; two sisters-in-law, Jerrilyn Cairo and JoAnn (Michael) Haase; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Salvatore Andreoli, Elizabeth (Patrick) Wicker, Robert (Doris) Andreoli, and two brothers-in-law, Rodney Smith and Albert Cairo.
A special thank you to Aurora Cancer Center of Kenosha, headed by his doctor, Dr. Bandealy, and his wonderful staff and loving nurses. We would also like to thank Dr. Santarelli who went above and beyond to help Al, and all his staff, especially his PA, Stacy, who were all so compassionate, caring, and loving to Al and Linda.
Prayers will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Monday, October 29th, at 9:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224 45th St, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery with full military honors. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, October 28th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorials made to the Aurora Cancer Center of Kenosha would be appreciated by the family.
